Ice Cream!

Students 3yrs - Entering Grade 2

Wednesday, June 5, 10:30 - 12:00, $15

Your little chemist will spend an exciting morning enjoying the science surrounding their favorite summer treat!  They'll craft their name out of paper ice cream scoops and then engineer scoops out of rectangles to take home and give to a loved one.  And of course, they'll explore the chemistry and TASTE of delicious ice cream that they've made themselves!

Pirates & Mermaids!

Students 3yrs - Entering Grade 2

Wednesday, June 12, 10:30 - 12:00, $15

Your future aquatic explorer will choose a mermaid tail or pirate ship to craft.  Then, they'll engineer a pirate treasure boat to float on still waters and survive stormy seas!  Adventures in buoyancy will continue with diving and surfacing mermaids until finally we seek out and find buried treasure!

Bubbles!

Time to be a HERO!  Your super scientist will create a comic book - style superhero picture of themselves saving the day.  Next, they'll join forces with the mighty HULK GUMMY BEARS!  Super powers will help them make lightning, crush bottles, and bend water.  Finally, they'll blast into the night with their super straw shooters!

Circus Science!

Your kid engineer will explore the science of the circus!  They'll choose a popcorn or cotton candy craft and then conduct three experiments to see chemistry, engineering and physics in action: dancing popcorn kernels, high-wire animals, and canon-shot daredevils!  Inspiration and imagination, oh my!

Space!

Your little astronaut will put their name in the stars during an opening art project.  Then, they'll blast into space in balloon rockets they assemble.  They'll evaluate and create moon craters, and finally, they'll complete their astronaut training with practice docking their space shuttle!

Magic & Wonder!

Students 3yrs - Entering Grade 2

Bring magic to your little one's world using science! They will start by creating a wand that lights up with simple circuits. Next they will write invisible messages that reveal themselves under a UV light. Then they will blow up balloons without an air pump! Finally they will make images and words disappear using water!

This summer's theme is "Wrap it Up!"  Students will create breakfast, lunch and dinner items.  The menu includes breakfast burritos, sushi and a surprise recipe guaranteed to be a tasty hit!  Along the way, students will learn safe knife skills and how to use kitchen equipment including the air fryer, microwave and skillet!
